Business leaders cite Pasay City as a major tourism, business hub in NCR
Business leaders see positive prospects for Pasay City in terms of business, tourism, and housing.
Sergio Ortiz-Luiz Jr., Employers Confederation of the Philippine (ECOP) president and lead convenor of "Sulong Pasay," said Pasay City is regarded as the “Travel City” and not just a gateway but a destination city for its tourism services and hospitality.
He said the advantage of seaside town living in close proximity to urban facilities continue to attract people to reside in Pasay City.
The ECOP president admitted that like any other places in the county, Pasay City has been very much affected by the pandemic that slowed down business and industries. Several establishments closed and thousands of people lost their jobs.
Ortiz-Luis said "Sulong Pasay" was formed with the undertaking of reviving the economy in close coordination with the local and national government.
He said among the initiatives of "Sulong Pasay" are job generation and investments in the city.
"Sulong Pasay" is composed of officials from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), Philippine Exporters Confederation (PhilExport), and Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOAI).
Pasay City, located on the southern part of the National Capital Region (NCR), has a significant portion of Manila Bay and continues to be a prime residence and commerce hub because of the advantage and convenience of having accessible vital offices and facilities in the city.
