The Serbisyo Sa Bayan Party (SBP) formally launched its candidates for the 2022 local elections at Gazebo Royale on Visayas Avenue in Quezon City on Saturday, Oct. 9.
SBP’s mayoral candidate, incumbent Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte, promised that her team will continue to provide exemplary performance together with the people of QC.
“I am greatly honored to be surrounded by such a competent and dedicated group of public servants, who all share the same values and commitment to our collective mission: inclusive growth, the upliftment of lives and communities, and unwavering service to every QCitizen,” Belmonte said.
The mayor said that she will continue to deliver programs on education, health, housing, employment and livelihood that will boost the city’s long-term development.
“As long as there are people who are hungry, people who are not going to school, people who don’t have homes, people who do not have jobs, then we have so much work ahead of us to do. We will not rest and we have a reason to wake up every morning,” she said.
“Hindi po tayo nandito para maghari-harian... Kami po ay nandito at mapagkumbabang inaalay ang aming sarili para sa ikatataas ng antas ng pamumuhay ng pinakamahihirap sa aming mga kababayan (We are not here to rule... We are here, humbly dedicating ourselves to raise the standard of living of the poorest),” Belmonte added.
Belmonte filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at the Quezon City Commission on Elections (Comelec) office, with her running mate, incumbent Vice Mayor Gian Sotto.
