Rep. Lani Cayetano vying to replace brother-in-law Lino as mayor of Taguig


Taguig Rep. Lani Cayetano is running for mayor of Taguig under the Nacionalista party in a bid to replace her brother-in-law Lino as the city’s chief executive in the May 9, 2022 elections.

“Ako ho ay magbibigay-daan at buong puso ko pong tinatanggap dahil bilib ho ako sa liderate ni Ate Lani (I will give way and I wholeheartedly accept because I believe in the leadership of Ate Lani),” said Lino.

Lani, wife of Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano, served as Taguig City mayor from 2010 to 2019 before running and winning as representative of Taguig in the 2019 elections.

She will face former Taguig-Pateros Congressman Arnel Cerafica, who filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor.
