P26-million access road in Maddela completed


MADDELA, Quirino – The P26.074-million worth of road concreting project leading to farm-based product processing in Maddela, Quirino is now completed.

The industrial road project is aligned with the DPWH-Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Convergence and Special Support Program of the department known as the Roads Leveraging Linkages of Industry and Trade (ROLL IT), which aims to provide access roads to trade, industry, and economic zones of the locality.

The 1.043-kilometer road concreting project along Divisoria Sur-San Salvador-Dungo Road connecting Cordon-Aurora Road, Aglipay and Maddela, Quirino is worth P26.074 million that leads to farm-based product processing in Maddela, Quirino.

Residents of Barangay Cofcaville and San Bernabe in the Municipality of Maddela expressed their gratitude to the effort of the national government thru the Department of Public Works and Highways - Quirino District Engineering Office (DPWH-QDEO) after the completion.

“The project is beneficial to the community of Maddela, where the projects strategically lead to corn, cassava, banana, and sugarcane farms resulting in income opportunities for the community. Moreover, the potential of agricultural land will be developed to the maximum, ultimately improving the local economy” District Engineer Lorna B. Asuten said.

The 1.043-kilometer road concreting project along Divisoria Sur-San Salvador-Dungo Road connecting Cordon-Aurora Road, Aglipay and Maddela, Quirino is funded under the GAA of 2021.

This includes the construction of 6.7-meter Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP), provision of reinforced concrete retaining wall as slope protection structure and installation of Reinforced Concrete Pipe Culvert (RCPC) as drainage structure.
