Netflix’s shows “Move to Heaven” and “Sweet Home” emerged as the biggest winners at the 3rd Asia Contents Awards (ACA), which recognized excellence in TV, OTT (online video streaming platform), and online contents.
The ACA was held on Oct. 7 with the ceremony combining online and in-person elements. It was broadcast on YouTube and Naver.
“Move to Heaven” and “Sweet Home” won three awards each. “Move to Heaven” bagged the Best Creative Award, Best Actor for Lee Je-hoon and Best Writer Award for Yoon Ji-ryun.
“Sweet Home” bagged Newcomer-Actress Award for Go Min-si, the ACA Excellence Award for actor Song Kang and the Technical Achievement Award.
“Girl from Nowhere S2,” a Netflix series produced in Thailand, grabbed the Best Asian TV Series Award, while “The Long Night,” which was released on iQiyi, received the Best OTT Original Award.
“The Long Night’s four nominations and Best OTT Original win at BIFF Asia Contents Awards not only delighted our creative team, but is also exciting news for the world’s Chinese content industry. We hope iQiyi’s ‘Light On’ series will be a worthy icon for the C-suspense genre and international viewers will continue to support great stories, creatives and artists,” said Dai Ying, iQiyi senior vice president and chief producer of the “Light On” series, in a statement.
Song Jia won Best Actress for “A Love for Dilemma” while both Go Min-si in “Sweet Home” and Koe Yeet in “Tituodao” bagged the the Newcomer-Actress Award.
The Newcomer-Actor Award went to Morisaki Win, who appeared in the Japanese drama “The Real Thing.” Morisaki celebrated his victory with a debut of his new song “Me Myself and I” at the ceremony. Aalia sang “Adrenaline,” the original soundtrack of the tvN drama “Vincenzo.”
The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) announced the nominees for the 3rd ACA last month.
This year, ACFM received 163 content submissions for 14 sections from 16 countries across Asia.
