Incumbent Angono, Rizal mayor and vice mayor seek reelection

Incumbent Angono, Rizal Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon and her father, Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon, filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for reelection on Friday, more than an hour prior to the 5 p.m. deadline for the submission of COCs for the May 9, 2022 elections.

Supporters of the Calderons wearing red shirts, the political color of the incumbent local officials, cheered in front of the municipal hall as the two leaders were submitting their COCs at the Angono office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Election officer Frendy del Rosario told Manila Bulletin that 14 individuals intending to run as members of the Sangguniang Bayan and a candidate for vice mayor also filed their COCs on the same day.
