Evardone, Abunda seek reelection in E. Samar


TACLOBAN CITY - Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone seeking for a second term, together with Rep. Ma. Fe Abunda after filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday (October 8) under the ruling Party PDP-LABAN.

Evardone first served as the provincial governor from 2014 to 2010 and became a congressman from 2010 to 2019.

Rep. Abunda was the mayor of Borongan City before she became congresswoman in 2019.

Incumbent Borongan City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda also filed his CoC under PDP-Laban with Emmanuel Tiu Sonco as his running mate.

Meanwhile, Petronilo Abuyen Jr. from Guiuan town also filed his COC for governor on Thursday with Benedicto Amit Gudez from the municipality of Sulat and Thelma Lopido Dalina from Dolores town as Sangguniang Panlalawigan members.

Former Borongan City Councilor Jessie Solidon will also vie for the vice-gubernatorial post. He will be running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

The candidates were the first to have filed their COCs in the Commision on Elections provincial office in Eastern Samar.
