The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has gone down by 23 percent in the last seven days, and daily infections hit below 10,000 for the first time in recent weeks on Tuesday, October 5.

But the big news from the Palace was that President Duterte barred his Cabinet members and other government officials from appearing before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, which has been investigation allegedly anomalous pandemic purchases by the government.

On the election front, Vice President Leni Robredo is expected to announce her decision on whether to seek the presidency or not on Thursday, October 7.
