Supporters hold prayer rally for Robredo, seek her decision to run for president

As Vice President Leni Robredo mulls her decision to run for president in the 2022 polls, her supporters held a virtual prayer rally to guide her in making the best choice for the country.

Vice President Leni Robredo (OVP)

Leni For You, a group of students, teachers, employees, parents, and alumni of various Jesuit institutions, held a virtual prayer rally via Facebook on Monday night, October 4.

Entitled “Panalangin ng Sambayanan,” the group said they understand what kind of decision is being asked from Robredo.

“Alam nyo naman po hindi madali magdesisyon sa isang bagay na nakataya hindi lamang ang kinabukasan ng inyong pamilya, kundi ang kinabukasan ng bansa. Kaya naiintindihan namin ang pagdedesisyon na ginagawa ni VP Leni at hanggang sa huling minuto ay ipapanalangin namin siya (We all know that the decision she has to make is not easy because her family’s future is at stake, as well as the future of the country. That’s why we understand the decision process of VP Leni and until the last minute, we will pray for her),” the group said.

They compared Robredo’s decision-making process to the time the Angel Gabriel announced to the Blessed Virgin Mary that she will bear a child who will be the savior.

The Blessed Virgin Mary had fear in her heart and had apprehensions but because of her deep faith and love for the Lord, she accepted the fate handed to her, they added.

“Patnubayan nawa ng Maykapal ang ating Bise Presidente Leni Robredo nang magsimula nang bumangon ang bayang sa dilim at lagim ay nakabaon (May the Lord guide our Vice President Leni Robredo so the country can start rising from the darkness and dread),” they said in prayer.

Leni For You also prayed for the country’s leaders, health workers, teachers, and Robredo’s volunteers.

They offered the prayer for all the “volunteers, members, and supporters” of Leni For You, as well as to all organizations with similar advocacy to see Robredo win the presidency.

“Nawa’y, dumami ang mga Pilipinong may parehong paniniwala sa kanila, at patuloy nawa nilang ipanalangin ang Bise Presidente sa kanyang pagpapasya. Makita nawa nila ang pagsikat ng isang bagong umaga sa biyayang sinilangan (May there be more Filipinos who will share the same beliefs as them, and may they continue to pray for the Vice President in her decision. May they see a new day in the country),” the group said.

Robredo is expected to announce her decision before Oct. 8, the last day of the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC).
