He is running under the ticket of Aksyon Demokratiko whose president is his running mate, Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

Ong was accompanied by Domagoso during their COC filing.

“Marami kami magandang plano para sa bayan, especially po ang focus naming talaga ay sa pagtulong---ang ating ekonomiya, sa pagkain ,kalusugan, trabaho (we have many good plans for our country, especially our focus is really on helping --- our economy, food, health, work,” Ong said in his speech after filing his COC.

On top of their plans, he said, is that they want to heal the country and in order to do this they would not focus on political squabbles.

“Hindi tayo magpo-focus sa mga away politika dahil nakita natin na doon nagkakaroon ng problema, at doon bumabagal ang tulong ng gobyerno (We will not focus on political squabbles because it causes problems and slow government assistance),” he said.

Ong said that they are very serious in executing their plans to alleviate the lives of Filipinos on the fringes of the society.

He is popular for giving free medical advice on Facebook and YouTube, causing him to have many followers on various social media platforms.

During the 2019 national elections, Ong garnered the second-highest number of overseas votes for senator. He got a total of 7,616,265 votes, but this was not enough for him to land him a Senate seat.
