Baguio miner seeks senatorial post


A seemingly ecstatic Narciso Solis, a miner from Baguio City, filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator at the Sofitel Tent in Pasay City on Monday, Oct. 4.

The miner, who wore a white hard hat, is running as an independent candidate.

While making his speech after filing, he kept on raising his hand while doing the “peace sign.”

“Tatakbo po tayo sa Senado para sa muling pagsulong ng ekonomiya sa ating bansa (I will run for senator to bring back the economy of our country),” he shouted.

“Isa po akong minero at isang mistisong emperor na galing sa Baguio na ang mga natutunaw sa minahan ay ginamit ko po sa ating bayan...para magkaroon po ng ekonomiya sa ating bansa (I am a miner and an emperror from Baguio City who used all the gold from the mine for for our country... for us to have an economy),” Solis claimed.

During the last part of his speech, he thanked President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

The senatorial aspirant said that the economy of the country will improve should he get elected as a senator.
