Yllana served as councilor in Parañaque City’s 2nd district from 1998 to 2004 then became the city’s vice-mayor from 2004-2007.

The veteran comedian then became a two-term councilor in Quezon City’s 5th district from 2013 to 2019.

Yllana will be up against a formidable politician in Fuentebella who is a three-time mayor of the municipality of Tigaon, Camarines Sur (2007-20016) before winning his current congressional seat in 2019.
