Enrile's mole on possible Sara-BBM tandem, 'Tapos na ang usapan'

DAVAO CITY – Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile is making a bet for the possible changes in the candidates’ decision in seeking post in the upcoming 2022 National Elections.

In a radio program of the SMNI dubbed as "Dito sa Bayan ni Juan," Enrile said that somebody told him that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will run for president in the 2022 elections.

“Kahapon (Saturday) lang meron nakapagsabi sa akin na tapos na iyong usapan sa dalawang panig ng pagiging kandidato. Si Sara ang presidente, si Bongbong naman ang bise,” Enrile said.

Enrile was quick to add that he was not so sure about it but he seems certain that the information he got was from a well-placed source which he declined to name.

“Yun ang sinabi nung nagsabi sa’kin kahapon. Hindi ko lang masabi ang pangalan. Ang aking kuro-kuro ayaw na muna nila ipaalam sa madla kung ano yung tunay na mangyayari,” Enrile said.

Enrile was earlier cautious to disclose which presidential candidate he favors, claiming that he is acquainted with all of the contenders.

In the Pulse Asia Survey earlier, Mayor Sara leads the Presidential survey results, while Bongbong Marcos is at third following senator Grace Poe at second place.

President Rodrigo Duterte, on the other hand, earlier said that his daughter will pair with Senator Christopher “Bong” Go for the two top government posts in the May 9 election.

The president confirmed the tandem in an ambush interview outside a hotel in Pasay City on Saturday after Go filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president.
