The Binibining Pilipinas has apologized for its recent caption posted on its Facebook.
In its post on Facebook Oct. 2, the Bb. Pilipinas organization said, "there was no intention to throw malice at any individual. But we understand the impression created by the said caption, given its timing."
The Bb. Pilipinas was reacting to its recent caption "natural woman" along with the photo of reigning Bb. Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold a few hours after Beatrice Luigi Gomez, an openly gay candidate from Cebu City, was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
The recent post received a backlash from pageants netizens, prompting the Bb. Pilipinas to take down its post.
Netizens thought that the caption of Bb. Pilipinas was malicious and threw shade at rival Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Competition.
"The organization has always been about celebrating Filipinas of all backgrounds. We will never consciously do anything to minimize the experience and truth of anyone."
