Senator Christopher Lawrence Go is running for vice president in the May 2022 polls.
The senator ended all speculations on Saturday, Oct. 2 when he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice president.
Go arrived at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) filing venue at Sofitel Tent in Pasay City past 3 in the afternoon together with President Rodrigo Duterte.
The move surprised a number of people since the long time aide of the president was earlier nominated by the faction of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi as PDP-Laban standard bearer and President Duterte as vice presidential candidate.
After filing his COC, Go signed the Integrity Pledge board of the Comelec.
He then went up the stage ti address the media present.
In his speech, Go revealed the decision of the President to withdraw his acceptance of nomination.
He also vowed to serve the needy and the hopeless during this trying times.
Go is the second prominent figure to file his COC for vice president.
The COC filing will run until Oct. 8.
