Did President Duterte just say that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will team up with Senator Christopher "Bong" Go in next year's polls?
A video going viral right now on Facebook shows Duterte answering a question presumably after he accompanied Go in filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the position of vice president on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 2. The short video was posted by a certain JP Mortel Fagura
"So klaro po ito, Sara-Go? (So it's clear, Sara-Go?)" a person was heard asking Duterte, who was surrounded by members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).
"Sara-Go na (It's Sara-Go)," the Chief Executive answered. Since Go is vying for vice president, it follows that he's insinuating that his daughter would be running for president on May 9, 2022.
"Kailan po filing ni Mayor Sara? (When will Mayor Sara file?)" Duterte was asked again, but the video ended before his full answered could be heard.
"I really do not..." he said.
Shortly after Go's filing of his COC, it was reported that Duterte-Carpio went on to file her COC as a reelectionist for the mayoralty post in Davao City.
Election hopefuls may still be substituted up to November 15, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
President Duterte, chairman of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), previously committed to the party to run for vice president next year. But now that Go has taken his place, he said that he has now "retired from politics".
