Sara welcomes new ‘Hugpong’ members

DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio welcomed the newest members of the Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod (HTL) in an online convention on September 30, Thursday morning.

Former local news anchor Tek Ocampo, who is currently part of the political organization, happily shared on his Facebook page the new endeavor he will be working on in the next months.

Ocampo and Tambi Sarenas, of the Davao City’s First Congressional District Office, are among the new members of the HTL, who took oath on Thursday during the HTL Virtual Convention.

The former television news anchor and member of the First District Office are candidates for City Councilor in First District of Davao City.

The online convention and oath-taking for the new members of the political organization – from First District to Third District – were administered by the City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The new members of the organization expressed their gratitude to Mayor Sara and to her siblings Davao City vice-mayor Sebastian and First Congressional District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte for the warm welcome.

The Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod, commonly referred to as Hugpong, is a local Davao City-based political organization, founded by President Rodrigo R. Duterte, former mayor of Davao City.

The political party is considered as a precursor of the newly-established Hugpong ng Pagbabago.
