Trump supporter 'Walis Man' is Filipino, according to netizens

Unfortunate? But let’s hope that tambo was put to better use

It’s weird enough to see our humble walis tambo in a protest, but a Filipino supporter of outgoing US President Donald Trump takes it to a whole new level.

Last Wednesday, Capitol Hill was stormed by hundreds of Trump’s supporters as they call to overturn the result of the country’s last election where President-elect Joe Biden won.

Among those who joined the protest was a man donning a face mask, hard hat, and the US flag as cape. What struck Filipino netizens the most was the walis tambo he was carrying.

The local broom was used as a prop and was decorated with Captain America’s famous shield with words “coup, pandemic hoax, false media, extremist group, and mail-in fraud” in it.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only “from the Philippines” present during the riot. Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez confirmed that some Filipinos from different states traveled to join the protest.

Now, netizens are saying that the “Walis Man” was really a Filipino and is from Ilocos Sur.

We don’t know the real story behind the mask of “Walis Man,” but if it’s true, this is certainly not the PH-Marvel mash up Filipinos need.
