Frankie Pangilinan apologizes after retweeting the names of suspects in Christine Dacera case

Frankie Pangilinan received huge backlash re-tweeting a post containing the name of the suspects in the death of flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera.

Pangilinan already deleted the post although she still encouraged her followers to remember the names mentioned there.

"I will withhold opinions until further, accurate information is dispersed, but I would like to apologize for the initial impassioned tweets here below… all my other sentiments, however, remain true — respect is better than protection, and rape is and always will be terrible," she wrote.

But Actor-singer Markki Stroem is not satisfied with her explanation, telling Sharon Cuneta's daughter it is "not enough."

He added: "I have friends on this list who did not deserve this public shaming. I rarely tweet. Take this down and apologize."

Pangilinan seemingly understood and immediately apologized.

Pangilinan said, "I’d taken down my quote tweet already. Deleted now for sure. It wasn’t my post to begin with and I just spread what I thought to be verified information since the conversation was being amplified repeatedly on my timeline."

Stroem said he appreciates Pangilinan's "valiant fight against rape culture" although he noted that there is another war that is far from over: homophobia.

"A boy had to come out on national TV before he was ready," he said, adding that removing the list from her platform is all that was needed.

"That, along with comments such as this, 'Kahit Bakla yan, lalaki parin yan, tinitigasan,' really shows the level of acceptance of our LGBT brothers and sisters. Anyway, enough of that, Happy Birthday to your mother, and have a wonderful night," he continued.

Pangilinan reiterated she is absolutely sorry for "helping spread misinformation."

"The authorities’ statements were misleading and confusing (and still are) so I hope you can understand. regardless, rape will never be okay, though," she wrote.

"It’s really eating me up guys I read through articles before tweeting but I should have waited knowing how the authorities function nowadays it’s sick and sad I’m really, really sorry."

"I promise I’ll do better. I’ve deleted all of the misleading tweets but I stand by everything I said regarding: respecting girls, and I hope Christine still gets the justice she deserves. It’s still a heartbreaking and gut-wrenching way to start the year."
