'Bridgerton' fascinates 63 million Netflix subscribers with scandal, intrigue

Netflix’s "Bridgerton" literally became the streaming giant’s smash hit of the season after they reported that 63 million subscribers tuned in to the scandalous Regency series over the holidays.

"Bridgerton" was a series developed by Shondaland, the studio behind hit series like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder, based on the book saga written by bestselling author Julia Quinn.

While Netflix has yet to officially announce a second season, Bridgerton has been listed by Production Weekly for filming in the first quarter of 2021.

This means that Shondaland may have already received an unofficial green light from the streaming giant to begin production for the second season.
The first season focused on the love story of the eldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne, and Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings.

Bridgerton Season 2 could center around the events of the second book of the series, entitled The Viscount Who Loved M. The book tells the story of Anthony, the Bridgerton heir, and Kate Sheffield, an outspoken and quick witted woman who wants to keep her younger sister from the clutches of Anthony, who is a well known Rake (a womanizer, not a garden supplement) among the Ton.
