KZ Tandingan kicks off the new year with an anthem for the marupok

Filipina singer and rapper KZ Tandingan’s love story may have found its happily ever after with songwriter TJ Monterde in the year that passed, unfortunately for many, it’s not the case. Asia’s Soul Supreme channels this for her new music video this 2021, dedicated for everyone with a fragile heart for love.

Written and composed by Daniel Balagtas, “Marupok” is the bop for the hopeless romantics. But don’t be fooled by its title because this song serves as a warning. From ghosting and being friendzoned to downright being lied to, the music ambassador for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) sings a rundown for relationship red flags everyone should be wary about.

So, to all the players out there, “alam na namin ang galawan niyo at 'di kami maloloko.”
