How Scottie Thompson proposed to longtime girlfriend Pau Fajardo

Basketball player Scottie Thompson started the year with happy news—he just got engaged!

The Ginebra star announced that his girlfriend Pauline Fajardo said yes to his proposal, right on New Year's Day.

Bringing out his creative side, Thompson laid out candles and formed a heart shape on the living room floor using scores of rose petals.

Thompson then presented a series of videos before going down on one knee to ask the all-important question.

For the videos, he asked the help of his athlete friends: Kevin Ferrer, Aljon Mariano, LA Tenorio, and Mark Caguioa. They, along with their partners, prepared a heartfelt message for Fajardo.

"This is where she started crying," Thompson wrote on Instagram, posting the said surprise video. "Thank you so much family for your effort, and for granting my request. It means a lot to us. I love you guys!"
