Jalen Green locked on with winning in NBA G League

Filipino-American rising star Jalen Green is all geared up with his mission to win games and get all the valuable lessons when the NBA G League kicks off in February in a bubble setup.

"Just the experience, in general," Green said of his expectations heading into the bubble during media availability. "It's gonna be my first time against pros and going to the bubble is really just like being isolated and having to focus on games and winning.

"We haven't done that for so long so the biggest thing to really focus on is just playing together, chemistry, and locking it."

The NBA's potential first pick believes Team Ignite has continued to improve for the past few weeks and took some lessons learned from their two scrimmages lost against veteran NBA G League members,

For Green, those losses became a "humbling experience" for their young squad.

"We're still adding pieces to the team, still trying to get the chemistry together. But I think we got a lot better since those scrimmages. I think overall, we've gotten better."

The California-native talent said having elite teammates helped him raised his game as well both as an individual athlete and as a team player.

Coached by five-time NBA champion Brian Shaw, Team Ignite is starred by Green, Filipino prodigy Kai Sotto, Americans Daishen Nix and Isaiah Todd, Congolese Jonathan Kuminga, and Indian wunderkind Princepal Singh.

"When you come out here, you'll be playing with a lot of great people who can score, who can do just as much as you can, and you gotta find ways to affect the game when you're not having the ball at your hands," explained Green.

Team Ignite, which kicks off its campaign on Feb. 10 against the Santa Cruz Warriors, is among the 18 teams set to participate on Feb. 8 in the NBA G League bubble at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The regular season will conclude on March 6 while the playoffs will start from March 8 to 11 for eight teams with the best records.
