Revillame to his fans: 'Humihingi ako ng kapatawaran'

Television host Willie Revillame has apologized to the thousands of fans who waited for him outside of the Wil Tower in Quezon City to greet him on his 60th birthday.


Revillame issued the apology in his game show "Wowowin: Tutok To Win" on GMA 7 today, Jan. 28, as he explained what really happened, as reported on GMA News Online.

The police, he said, prevented him from approaching the crowd due to existing health protocols.


Reports said that the crowd waited for the popular game show host to show up from morning of Jan. 27 until past midnight of Jan. 28.


Revillame's explanation:

"Siguro almost 4,000 po ang tao dito na dumating. Eh humihingi ako ng kapatawaran, pasensiya sa inyo, sa pag-unawa dahil alam niyo naman ho na kailangang sumunod tayo sa batas, sa social distancing. Alam ko pong gusto niyo akong mabati, gusto ko ho kayong mapuntahan sana pero hindi po ako puwedeng bumaba. I'm sorry dahil pinigilan po ako ng mga pulis dahil baka po may mangyari pang hindi maganda so iniwasan na po 'yan. Sana maintindihan n'yo po. Kaya nga ho ginawa 'tong 'Tutok to Win,' para hindi na ho kayo bumabiyahe dito, hindi po ba.”
