GOT7's Jinyoung officially signs exclusive contract with BH Entertainment

K-pop boy band GOT7’s Jinyoung has officially joined BH Entertainment after his contract with JYP Entertainment expired last Jan. 19.

BH Entertainment announced on Jan. 28 that it has signed an exclusive contract with the 26-year-old singer and actor.

In BH Entertainment, Jinyoung will be part of the agency’s stable of actors and actresses including Lee Byung-hun, Han Ji-min, Park Bo-young, Go Soo, Lee Jin-wook, Han Ga-in and Han Hyo-joo.

Last December, it was reported that Jinyoung had a meeting with BH Entertainment to discuss the possibility of joining the agency.

Jinyoung debuted in GOT7 in 2014 and when the members’ seven-year contracts were up for renewal this year, they have decided to leave JYP Entertainment.

Acting is no stranger to Jinyoung. Before GOT7, he made his debut as an actor in the drama “Dream High 2” in 2012. He has also appeared in “When a Man Falls in Love,” “Legend of the Blue Sea,” “He is Psychometric” and last year’s “When My Love Blooms.”

BH Entertainment said it will support Jinyoung’s career as an actor and singer. After the expiration of their contracts, GOT7 members have announced their next move.

Youngjae joined Sublime Artist Agency. Jackson’s Team Wang signed a business agreement with Sublime Artist Agency. Mark Tuan and DJ and musician Sanjoy will drop the song “One in a Million” on Feb. 12.

After their contracts expired, GOT7’s JB, Jackson, Mark, Youngjae, Jinyoung, BamBam and Yugyeom wrote a handwritten letter to IGOT7 (fans).

"We have decided not to renew our contract with JYP Entertainment, where we began our career. They've done the best for us though. We are planning on opening the new chapter of our lives, and wanted to make sure you were the first one to know about it,” the members said, according to SBS News.

They added, "We know whatever we say won't ease your pain as well as to make your anxiety go away, but there is one thing we can say to you. We would like to say that we don't want our memories with you kept in the past; we want to keep creating memories with you in the future."

"Let us show ourselves growing in different ways. We will keep improving ourselves. Keep an eye on us. Love you, IGOT7," the members said.
