CEB adds-on Domestic & International COVID Insurance

Cebu Pacific (CEB) recently launched COVID Protect, a P250 add-on to its travel insurance plan for both domestic and international passengers to cover COVID-related hospitalization and treatment.

Under COVID Protect, guests traveling who test positive for COVID-19 will get up to P1 million coverage for hospitalization and medical expenses.

Coverage begins on the date of departure from origin and ends two hours upon arrival back at origin, with a maximum travel duration of 30 consecutive days.

Insurance Company of North America, a Chubb Company, is the underwriter for CEB Travelsure COVID Protect.

Chubb is the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company.

"We launched CEB Travelsure COVID Protect in line with our commitment to restart travel and tourism safely and sustainably," according to Candice Iyog, CEB Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience.

"With COVID Protect, guests who have scheduled essential trips can travel confidently as they are assured of coverage," she added.

Passengers can avail of the add-on when booking flights on the CEB website.

On the other hand, existing CEB Travelsure insured passengers can simply purchase the COVID Protect add-on up to two hours prior their flight via the ‘Manage Booking’ portal on the Cebu Pacific website.

Chubb also offers a 24/7 Emergency Assistance Hotline, while claims may be filed onlinr.

CEB TravelSure is the airline’s travel insurance plan covering costs related to having injuries, illnesses, loss of personal belongings, trip cancellations, emergency assistance, and other unforeseen travel circumstances (subject to the full terms & conditions of the Group Policy).

CEB has been rated 7/7 stars by Airline Ratings for its COVID-19 compliance as it continues to implement a multi-layered approach to safety.

These include contactless procedures, thorough cleaning and disinfection protocols for all aircraft and facilities, mandatory wearing of masks and face shields for both passengers and crew, as well as Antigen testing for CEB frontliners before duty.

On top of these, jet aircraft are also equipped with hospital-grade HEPA filters with 99.99% efficacy, keeping viruses at bay.
