Cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country grew to 516,166 as a total of 1,173 new cases were recorded Tuesday, the Department of Health said.

Eighteen patients recovered from the disease, bringing the national count of recoveries to 475,423.
Ninety-four fatalities were recorded, taking the death toll to 10,386.
According to the latest case bulletin, most of the new confirmed cases came from Cebu City with 84, Davao City with 67, Cavite with 51, Quezon City with 47, and Rizal with 41.
Active cases also grew to 30,357. Of this, 84.9 percent are mild cases, 8.4 percent are asymptomatic, 0.50 percent are moderate cases, while 3.8 percent are in critical condition and 2.5 percent are severe cases.
The Health department also said that at present, 59 percent of the intensive care units (ICU) dedicated for COVID-19 are available while 65 percent of the isolation beds set for cases of the disease are unoccupied.
It added that 73 percent of the ward beds for COVID-19 patients are available and 77 percent of ventilators are unused.
