Bloomberry building Quezon town's first hospital

Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Solaire Resort and Casino, is building the first hospital in San Andres, Quezon.  

To be situated in Sitio Yuyuan, Barangay Camflora, San Andres, Quezon, the 25-bed-capacity hospital will have isolation rooms, semi-private rooms, 6-bed-wards and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). 

It will also have four emergency rooms, two operating and delivery rooms and provisions for consultation rooms and out-patient consultation rooms.

Construction is expected to be completed in a year. The full-service hospital nearest to San Andres is in Lucena, about 184 kilometers away or a land drive of four hours.

“In partnership with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), we seek to help the local government of San Andres to address the need for an affordable, accessible and adequate medical health facility for its seven barangays and for nearby contiguous towns as well,” said BCFI Executive Director Filipina C. Laurena at the groundbreaking ceremony.

San Andres Mayor, Atty. Giovanne Lim, mayor of San Andres, expressed his and his constituents’ gratitude to BCFI for providing the necessary funds for this project. The town has an estimated population of more than 36,000.

PAGCOR President Atty. Alfredo Lim said PAGCOR is happy to be part of the project, which will certainly and significantly address the long-time need of San Andres residents to have a full-service hospital which will cater to the health needs of the community.  

The project is one of the public-private-partnership projects of BCFI and PAGCOR, which have been jointly undertaking projects in recent years covering three development pillars -- environment and health, education and cultural heritage.
