FDA issues warning on use of these cotton swabs

There are a lot of people who use cotton swabs, from mothers who use them to clean their babies to adults using them to wipe dirt off their faces or hard-to-reach areas.

It might be a simple product that we all use on a daily basis, and it may look like all cotton swabs are the same, but the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a memo last January 14, warning healthcare professionals and the general public to avoid purchasing and using this unnotified medical device product—Zhad Yang Medical Cotton Swabs.

According to the memo, there is no corresponding product notification certificate issued, "Since this unnotified medical device product has not gone through evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety."

The Bureau of Customs has also been asked to block the entry of this product to the country.
