Sunshine Cruz has welcomed the year 2021 with bashing after her photos with loved ones have received negative reactions.

In fact, one netizen even assumed things about her relationship with Macky Mathay.

"Kaya pala nag hiwalay kau ni Cesar Montano dahil pala nyan ni kalbo dako man gud guro na bunal," the online user's comment read.

To which the 43-year-old star immediately replied with: "I share my photos hindi para bastusin mo lang. 3 taon na kaming hiwalay ni Cesar ng makilala ko si Macky. Opo kalbo sya pero palagay ko mas edukado at gwapo sya sayo. Happy New Year! 2021 na. Magbago ka na!"

Sunshine also left some advice to haters.

"Happy New Year guys! I share my photos pampa good vibes. If you find my posts offensive you can unfollow or just ignore it. 2021 na po. Let’s try to be better people. Artista po ako pero hindi po ibig sabihin may karapatan ang iba na bastusin ako o kami dahil wala naman po akong ginagawang masama sa kapwa ko."

It was in 2000 when Sunshine and Cesar tied the knot but they got separated in 2013 after she caught him cheating multiple times.

The following year, Sunshine petitioned for annulment which was granted four years after.

Sunshine and her businessman boyfriend celebrated their fourth anniversary as a couple last year.
