Alissa Martinez, youngest daughter of Albert Martinez, gives birth to first child

Alissa Martinez and Paulus Reyes with son Amati Mari

Alissa Martinez, youngest daughter of actor Albert Martinez and the late Liezel Sumilang, has welcomed to the world her first child with husband Paulus Reyes.

On Instagram, Alissa said that that their son Amati Mari is an "answered prayer."

"Ever since we found out I was pregnant, @paulusreyes and I prayed the rosary everyday for a healthy baby boy and here he is. I love you so much Amati. Thank you for giving my life so much meaning and purpose," wrote Alissa.

The comment section was also filled with congratulatory messages.

Actor Aga Muhlach wrote: "Woot!!! Dami ko apo!! Congratulations!! Love you guys! Hope to see you all soon!" Aga is Leizel's cousin.

Other stars who extended warm messages include Dominique Cojuangco, Pops Fernandez, Marjorie Barretto, and Carla Abellana.

On the Instagram account of Paulus, he described the new addition to their family as "a new purpose and meaning in life."

Paulus also penned an appreciation post to his wife for all her "sacrifices" she made for their son.

"I admire you so so much for what you went through. Witnessing our son’s birth and the pain that you endured to give Amati an unmedicated natural birth makes me respect motherhood so much! I know I will continue to be amazed with all the love and sacrifice you will give our family. I am humbled, more motivated and excited in this beautiful journey of fatherhood. Thank you Mama Alissa. I love you (heart emoji).

Alissa and Paulus got married in an intimate ceremony in Canada in 2019.
