Jay Sonza slams Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto for filing bill seeking to renew ABS CBN franchise

Former broadcaster Jay Sonza slammed Batangas Congresswoman Vilma Santos-Recto for filing a bill seeking to renew the franchise of ABS CBN network.

On Facebook January 19, Sonza said:

"Cong. Vilma Santos, what renewal are talking about? There is nothing to renew because the network has no live or existing franchise to begin with.

"Ang dami nang bobo sa Kongreso, huwag mo ng idagdag ang sarili mo sa bilang nila. "Tapatin mo ang bayan, Ate Vi, Huwag na tayong magbolahan pa, magkano ba talaga ang dahilan? said Sonza on Facebook.

Santos-Recto has filed a new bill that would seek to renew the franchise of the broadcast giant.

Under House Bill 8298, Santos-Recto proposed to renew the franchise of the Kapamilya network for another 25 years.

The deputy speaker made the move after Senate President Vicente Sotto III filed a similar measure in the Senate.

"Yes, I will (file the bill). It's the right thing to do," Santos-Recto in a report by GMA News Online recently. "I'm hoping for the best."
