PH ARMY reacts to the newest endorsement of BTS

If you haven’t been in the loop, South Korea’s worldwide sensation and Grammy-nominated BTS recently went public as the newest brand ambassadors of Smart Telecommunications here in the Philippines.

The boy band’s video filmed in South Korea was published on the said telco company’s social media platforms earlier today. 

Here are just some of the reactions from Filipino netizens and BTS fans also known as the PH ARMYs.

Globe loyalists turned Smart switchers

A huge number of loyalists of their direct competitor Globe look like they’re out to switch now that BTS has endorsed Smart.

The talk about Filipino speaking Koreans

Many of the netizens also commended (and wished for more) of the South Korean group speaking in Filipino.

Of course, we couldn’t help but notice how happy the Filipino BTS fans are, after seeing their idols talking about a Filipino company.

Brand identity 

This netizen pointed out a key insight about the similarities of BTS and the Philippine company. It’s worth mentioning, since brand identities are really important in the eyes of the consumers nowadays, and Smart seems to have gotten that aspect spot on in this tie up with BTS.

It’s a big win for Smart Telecommunications today, with a successful launch with BTS. It’s a bigger win for the Filipino ARMYs to finally see their idols representing a Filipino brand. 축하해요 /chuk-hae-yo/ ARMY! Congratulations!
