K-pop boy band Treasure tops weekly music chart with first official debut album

Rookie K-pop idol group Treasure topped the weekly music chart with their first official debut album “The First Step: Treasure Effect.”

Hanteo Chart released the weekly album chart for the period Jan. 11 to 17. “The First Step: Treasure Effect.” bagged first place with 153,464 copies sold in six days. The first-week sales period for Treasure’s album is from Jan. 12 to 18, according to Hanteo.

Treasure’s last album “The First Step: Chapter Three” sold 171,773 copies in seven days and with one day to go for “The First Step: Treasure Effect” to complete the first-week sales, fans can still equal or surpass the total.

“The First Step: Treasure Effect” sold 62,514 copies on the first day on Jan. 12 to place second overall on Hanteo’s daily album chart. It placed first on the second day on Jan. 13 with 83,521 copies in sales.

According to YG Entertainment, Treasure is about to become a million seller with “The First Step” albums. Pre-orders for “The First Step: Treasure Effect” reached 250,000 copies while the first three “First Step” albums have sold about 730,000 copies.

During a global press conference, Treasure talked about their new album.

“It feels marvelous, even more than when we released our first single album, and feels like a dream,” said Doyoung while Yedam said, “‘Treasure Effect’ contains Treasure’s warm consolation and support,” according to the YG blog. Hyun-suk said, “It’s an honor to make a comeback with an official debut album.”

According to Hanteo Chart, the top-selling albums on the weekly chart from Jan. 11 to 17 are:

  1. Treasure - “The First Step: Treasure Effect” - 153,464 copies
  2. (G)I-DLE - “I Burn” - 115,538
  3. NCT - “Resonance, Pt. 2” Departure Version - 88,032
  4. Victon - “Voice: The Future is Now” - 71,390
  5. TXT - “Minisode 1: Blue Hour” - 13,122
  6. EXO’s Kai - “Kai” - 10,190
  7. ENHYPEN - “Border: Day One” - 7,422
  8. MCND - “MCND Age” - 6,257
  9. Jeong Sewoon - “24” - 3,529
  10. Infinite’s Sungkyu - “Inside Me” - 3,471
