107 health workers test positive for COVID-19 in Davao region in last eight days
DAVAO CITY – A total of 107 health workers in the Davao region tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past eight days, according to the Department of Health (DOH) Davao.
Based on the DOH-Davao Region's COVID-19 Weekly Situationer No. 29, the total cases of healthcare workers affected by the virus was 1,838 as of January 13. This was 107 more compared to the previous weekly situationer last January 5.
The latest report showed that, of the total, 233 were admitted, 1,595 recovered, and 10 died.
Compared with the previous tally, the new cases added to the list included 31 nurses, eight physicians, nine nurse attendants, three medical technologists, six other healthcare workers, 19 non-medical staff, and 30 non healthcare workers or frontliners.
Based on the latest report of the DOH, 403 nurses; 109 physicians; 135 nurse attendants; 88 medical technologists; and 187 other healthcare workers have been infected with COVID-19 in the region. For non-medical healthcare workers, 320 staff and 502 non healthcare workers or frontliners were infected.
