Winners at 10th Gaon Chart Music Awards

The 10th Gaon Chart Music Awards ceremony was held on Jan. 13 to honor outstanding songs and albums released in Korea between December 2019 to November 2020. 

K-pop idol group BTS emerged as the biggest winner, bagging six awards. They won Artist of the Year in digital music, which was awarded by month, for February with “ON,” August with “Dynamite” and November with “Life Goes On.”

In Artist of the Year in physical albums, awarded by quarter, BTS won the first quarter with “Map of the Soul: 7” and fourth quarter with “BE.”  In addition, “Map of the Soul: 7” was awarded Retail Album of the Year. 

BLACKPINK won four awards:  Artist of the Year (digital music) for June with “How You Like That” and October with “Lovesick Girls,” Social Hot Star of the Year and Mubeat Global Choice.  

IU bagged three awards: Artist of the Year (digital music) for May with “Eight” featuring BTS’ Suga, Lyricist of the Year and Music Steady Seller of the Year with "Blueming."

The Rookie of the Year award went to boy band ENHYPEN in the physical album category, their third new artist award, and girl group Aespa in the digital music category.
