Bamboo expo to be held in Bukidnon in summer 2021

An expo showcasing various products made of bamboo will be staged in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon province this year.

In a statement, Mindanao Development Authority (MindDA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said the Mindanao Bamboo Expo 2021 "will be one of the major activities to be undertaken following the scheduled organization of the Mindanao Bamboo Council on Jan. 19 in Cagayan de Oro City."

The expo is eyed to be held in summer this year.

In the proposed Mindanao Bamboo Expo 2021, Piñol said MinDA will also conduct a search for the best High-Value Bamboo Products which will be given recognition and awards.
"This strategy of showing the best products of Mindanao farmers and craftsmen is expected to bring out the best from people of the region," he added.

The MinDA secretary said furniture companies including the multinational company, Ikea, will be invited to participate in the Mindanao Bamboo Expo 2021.
