Off the court, Fil-Am sensation Jalen Green enjoys the simplest things in life

Did you know that Jalen Green used to dream of being a veterinarian?

Yes, he also likes pets. In fact, he has a five-month-old terrier mix named Future.

That was in the past though as the Filipino-American youngster tries to lead a group of elite prospects when the NBA G League kicks off in February.

In an Instagram post by the NBA G League, Green shared more of his personal life aside from being known as one of the promising basketball talents of today.

Green, just like most teenagers, pretty much enjoys the simplest things in life such as hanging out with his friends, taking care of his pets, and buying clothes.

"Outside of basketball-- pretty much all I like doing -- probably just quality time with my friends," shared the 18-year-old Green.

"I like buying clothes and stuff like that... or getting them for free. So anybody out there want to send me some stuff, it's that time," jested Green during the interview.

At age five, Green recalled how he got into basketball as soon as he picked up the ball at a certain community church and attempted some granny shots.

Fast forward today, the Fresno-based cager became one of the most prized recruits of the NBA G League with a high chance of getting drafted in the NBA.

"I've been in Cali pretty much all my life, just traveling, playing in different states. But representing Cali is pretty good."

Coached by five-time NBA champion Brian Shaw, Green is joined by homegrown talent Kai Sotto, Americans Daishen Nix and Isaiah Todd, Congolese Jonathan Kuminga, and Indian wunderkind Princepal Singh in Team Ignite.

Team Ignite is among the 18 teams set to participate in the NBA G League bubble at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
