Two of the suspects in a bank robbery in Paco, Manila last Sept. 27 were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 30, by members of Manila Police District (MPD) Investigation and Detective Management during a follow-up operation in Paranaque City.
The suspects were identified as truck driver Carel Macarine, 32, a resident of Caloocan City, and truck helper Ryan Sale, 28, a resident of Quezon Ciity.
Macarine and Sale were presented to members of the media by National Capital Region Police (NCRPO) director Major Gen. Vicente Danao and MPD director Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco following their arrest.
The duo were reportedly the cohorts of the primary suspect in the robbery at the Chinabank-Otis Branch in Paco.
According to the police report, the main suspect entered the bank and pretended as a client intending to open an account. He later left the bank but re-entered the establishment and declared the robbery.
He took around P700,000 cold cash and fled on board a black Yamaha Mio motorcycle.
CCTV cameras, however, captured the getaway motorcycle being loaded into a Transportify van used by the two arrested suspects.
Danao said the suspects were nabbed in Paranaque City during a follow-up operation launched by the MPD.
The two suspects were charged with robbery.
The prime suspect remains at large, Danao said.
