The Commission on Elections (Comelec) may extend the voters’ registration to October 31.
This was revealed Tuesday, Sept. 28 by Comelec Director Teopisto Elnas Jr., according to Senator Imee Marcos.
Marcos said that Elnas informed her that Comelec commissioners would pass tomorrow a resolution extending voters’ registration to October 31.
On Monday, the Senate and the House of Representatives passed their separate bills seeking to extend the voters’ registration from September 30 to October 31 as long lines of prospective voters continue to mass a registration centers.
These are ordinary sights at malls in the Metro Manila area with applicants troop to these establishments even at nights, hoping to get queuing numbers.
