BTS to hold first in-person concert in two years in LA

K-pop superstars will be returning to the stage with their first in-person concert in two years in Los Angeles.

BTS and Big Hit Music announced on Sept. 28 the holding of the “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-LA” on Nov. 27 and 28, and Dec. 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

SoFi Stadium, opened in September 2020, is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. It will host the Super Bowl LVI in February 2022, WrestleMania in April 2023, and the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

BTS members were ecstatic when they announced the upcoming concert.

“Hey ARMY, we are so excited to announce that later this year, the ‘BTS Permission to Dance on Stage’ will be held in LA,” said RM in a video announcement.

Jungkook said, “We’ve been itching to tell you. I hope this news will make ARMY glad.”

According to Big Hit Music, “Holding an in-person concert in the midst of COVID-19 is not easy, but after looking for opportunities to do so, we are able to hold the concert in the United States after taking the national and regional health regulations and circumstances into consideration.”

This will be the first time that BTS will hold an in-person concert since the “2019 BTS World Tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself The Final” that was held on Oct. 26, 27 and 29, 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.

That was the last time that BTS held an in-person concert as the COVID-19 pandemic exploded starting in January 2020.

“This is an especially valuable event that will be held under difficult circumstances which is why we will do our very best to bring you an all-new, phenomenal concert, while keeping the health of the artists and fans our top priority,” Big Hit Music added.

It added, “It is our deepest regret that we are unable to hold more concerts in more areas. We will do our best to put on additional concerts for not only Korean fans but fans from all around the world who have been patiently waiting for a long time.”
