Why is Raffy Tulfo losing his YouTube subscribers?

Raffy Tulfo's YouTube channel has lost almost 400K subscribers.

From 22.1 million, it's now down to 21.8 million.

In fact, the banner photo in the said social media account, which carries the text "22 million stronger!" has been replaced by a new one.

Why?

Supposedly, some Diehard Duterte Supporters or DDS are encouraging other netizens to "unsubscribe" from his channel.

Apparently, it all started with Raffy saying something relating to President Duterte during his appearance on ABS-CBN's "ASAP Natin To."

A netizen uploaded a clip of his appearance there on TikTok.

There, Raffy is heard saying: "Dati rati nga gu-guest na ako sa ABS-CBN noon pa, maraming taong masaya pero ngayon malulungkot sila... 'wag kayong malungkot dahil (count with his fingers) 'yan na lang (showing eight fingers) or pwede natin sabihing 9, 10, 10 months kasi 10,000 kasing nawalan ng trabaho. Kung pwedeng baka sabihin ni Lord, 'Sige 10 months okay na ulit.'"

He added: "Kumbaga mag ba-banggaan yung 16 million vs. 42 million subscribers. Na gets mo? Kung i-combine mo pa baka 50 million ano? Vs 16 million? Alin mas marami doon?"

Online users claimed that Raffy is referring to the votes that President Duterte received in the last election, while the other number is the count of his followers online.

Recall that Raffy has more than 22.1 million subscribers on YouTube, 18 million followers on Facebook, 1.5 million on Instagram, 2.7 million on TikTok, and 55K on Lyka.

The now viral TikTok post received hateful comments from fuming netizens.

One deemed it a "wrong move" on Raffy's part, relating that most of his followers are DDS.

Someone also noted how online followers and subscribers are "different" from voters.

Talk about Raffy supposedly running in the 2022 election has been going around.
