Mayor Sara Duterte remains mum on political plans; files leave Oct 5-8

DAVAO CITY – Mayor Sara Z. Duterte–Carpio remains mum on Philippine presidential aspirations and political plans for the upcoming 2022 Elections.

This was the response of the city mayor to a news writer who was about to ask a political-related question during her program over DCDR 87.5 on September 27.

“May I remind the Davaoeños that from today until October 8 the country will be very noisy, and that what we need to focus on is our COVID-19 response and vaccination here in the city,” Mayor Sara said in vernacular.

The city mayor also advised the public to focus on their respective work and/or business, and put on earplugs to drown out the noise .

Politicians have until the first week next month to declare their candidacies — but substitutions can be accepted until Nov. 15.

Mayor Sara, meanwhile, announced that she will be taking leave from her responsibility as mayor of the city from October 5 to 8 and another day in April 2022.

The city mayor, however, still did not disclose her specific medical reasons behind her said break. She only said, “It is something that I really need to attend to.”
