CAAP activates emergency plan to check on airports affected by quake


The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has activated its emergency plan after a strong earthquake rocked Mindoro, Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon early Monday morning, Sept. 27.

The emergency plan, according to CAAP Director General Jim Sydiongco is aimed at checking the status of airports in Mindoro and other areas affected by tremor.

The initial report, however, stated that the airports at San Jose,Mamburao and Lubang did not sustainstructural damages on buildings, structures and equipment.

"All personnel are safe and accounted for," he said.
