Megaworld's shopping app lists over 1,000 brands

Megaworld Corporation’s all-in-one, on-demand lifestyle delivery app PICK•A•ROO announced that it has now listed more than 1,000 well-known brands and more than 150,000 products across different categories.

“We have been carefully curating and selecting our merchant partners to provide only the best offerings to our customers,” said Kevin L. Tan, president of Agile Digital Ventures, Inc., the digital and innovation investment subsidiary of Megaworld, which is behind PICK•A•ROO.

Launched at the height of the pandemic in August last year, PICK•A•ROO boasts of a carefully curated list of “can’t-live-without” brands and specialized stores, brought closer to consumers who are unable to visit most physical stores given quarantine restrictions.

Latest data from the company shows that 75 percent of PICK•A•ROO’s transactions are through the use of credit cards and customers use the app at an average of at least once a week for groceries and up to thrice a week for food.

Unlike other delivery apps operating today, PICK•A•ROO lets users shop from various stores at the same time and check out in one go.

Everything is delivered straight to the customer’s doorstep in a safe, contact-free way, in as fast as 25 minutes for food and one hour for groceries and medicine. Users also have the option to choose when to have their items delivered to them.

“Part of our vision is to constantly challenge ourselves to provide the best service to our discerning customers. So, it is always our goal to decrease the waiting time for delivery,” said Tan.

Through PICK•A•ROO, consumers can buy grocery essentials safely wherever they are. The app has almost all the major supermarkets in one place: The Marketplace, Shopwise, S&R, Landmark, All Day, Robinsons Supermarket, MerryMart, and UltraMega Grocery.

Other brand choices on PICK•A•ROO include South Star Drug, Medexpress, and MerryMart OTC (medicines); Gourdo’s, True Value, and All Home (home); Ace Hardware, Buildplus, and All Home (hardware); PowerMac, Beyond the Box, and Digital Walker (gadgets); Chicco, Mustela, and Enfant (moms and babies); and Dyson, Imarflex, and American Home (appliances).

PICK•A•ROO also offers a myriad of food choices from several major food groups. The extensive menu includes Tim Ho Wan and Mesa under Foodee Global Concepts; 8Cuts Burgers and Din Tai Fung under The Moment Group; Max’s and Dencio’s under Max’s Group; Italianni’s, TGIF, Denny’s under The Bistro Group; Mos Burger and Coco Ichibanya under The UCC Group.

For hotel food, PICK•A•ROO lists choices from Shangri-la Hotel (Shangri-la at Home and Wang’s Kitchen); Marriott Hotel Manila (Marriott Café), Sofitel Manila (Spiral at Home and Easy Peasy; Hotel Okura Manila (Okura at Home); Sheraton Hotel Manila (S Kitchen); New World Hotel (Jasmine); Marco Polo Ortigas (Lung Hin by Marco Polo); Hilton Manila (Bring Hilton Home); and Megaworld Hotels, namely, Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, Richmonde Hotel Eastwood, Savoy Hotel Manila, Belmont Hotel, and Hotel Lucky Chinatown.

For casual or fine dining, PICK•A•ROO also offers selections from quick-service restaurants like McDonald’s, S&R Pizza, Shakey’s, Pizza Hut, and Lander’s Centarl Pizza; as well as fine dining restaurants like Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, Marriott’s Cru, Bondi & Burke, The Test Kitchen by Josh Boutwood, and Las Flores.

It also has a line-up of “hole-in-the-wall” brands like Gang Gang Chicken, Kabab & Curry, Yedang, Bread for Everyone, and Chef Park’s.
