A man who robbed a store in Marikina City on Thursday night was tracked down by police through his cellular phone which he accidentally left at the crime scene.

Police identified the suspect as Marc Chris Versoza Parreño, 22.

According to the police report, Parreño was able to get inside the office of XYZCO Foods Corporation and robbed its drawer of P30,000 on the night of Sept. 23, Thursday.

The suspect was alarmed by the presence of a witness inside the building, which prompted him to flee. He, however, accidentally dropped his phone as he escaped.

The witness reported the robbery and presented Parreño’s phone to the police.

After examining the suspect’s phone, the cops successfully tracked the suspect’s location, leading to his arrest on Friday.  (Lemuel Baruela)
