Hundreds line up at Comelec registration site in Parañaque

Hundreds of individuals who intend to vote in the 2022 national elections lined up at the registration site of the Commission on Election (Comelec) at the Parañaque City Sports Complex on Friday.

The ABS-CBN reported the long lines at the sports complex started as early as 3:00 a.m., but the Comelec cancelled the registration of those coming from District 1.

The Comelec announced earlier that there would be a voter registration for District 1 and II residents at the sports complex.

Residents from District I, however, were disappointed when they were informed that their registration will be held in Ayala Malls.

Police arrived at the site to ensure orderliness and observance of the health protocols during the registration process.

The police formed a long line for District I registrants, and a separate line for senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs).

The registration of new voters will continue on Saturday at the Ayala Malls for District I and at the SM BF for District II.
