72-year-old ‘Madam’ yields P1-M shabu in Taguig


The Taguig police arrested a 72-year-old woman after she yielded P1 million worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and a firearm in a buy-bust operation in Taguig Friday.

Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspect as Vilma Isani alias “Madam,” a resident of Brgy. Napindan, Taguig.

Isani was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. by the Taguig Drug Enforcement Unit on Brazil Street in UMC Village, Brgy. Napindan.

Seized from the suspect were three plastic sachets containing 152.06 grams of shabu estimated to be worth P1.03 million, one .45-caliber Armscor pistol, three live ammunitions, one magazine of .45-caliber, a pouch, shoulder bag, P1,000 bill and 49 pieces of P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money by authorities.

According to the police, Isani will be charged with sale and possession of illegal drugs in violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

"Walang pinipili ang kampanya kontra illegal drugs ng Southern Police District, bata man o matanda, babae o lalake, pantay-pantay namin ipapatutupad ang batas," said Macaraeg.
