Ride-sharing giant Grab Philippines and motorcycle-taxi firm Move It have teamed up to provide additional transportation options to commuters through offering bike-hailing services on its platform.
Commuters can access and book services through the Move It tile in the Grab app starting Thursday, Sept. 23, aside from its own mobile application.
According to Grab and Move It, the partnership ladders up to their broader commitment to support the needs of many commuters by providing safe, reliable, and easy-to-use mobility solutions amid the pandemic.
In a statement, Move It President and CEO Francis Juan said the tie up also aims to help accomplish the goal of the motorcycle-taxi pilot run by providing transport officials relevant statistics and insights on motorcycle-taxi safety and aid lawmakers in its legislation.
“Through this landmark partnership, we are confident that many Filipinos will experience and enjoy its many benefits, and we are hopeful that the bike-hailing industry will continue to recover from the impacts of the pandemic,” Juan added.
For her part, Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera-Cruz emphasized the importance of the “bayanihan spirit,” especially between transport stakeholders, to gradually reopen the economy amid the ongoing health crisis.
“As we work towards gradually reopening our economy and building a stronger and more resilient future for our communities, we all need to work together and help one another,” Vera-Cruz said.
She also called on other private firms in the transportation sector to join them in “building a stronger and more resilient future for our communities.”

As mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and motorcycle taxi technic working group, Grab assured that all fares reflected on the Move It tile in its app will continue to follow the pricing matrix for the pilot run without additional fees.
