In a bid to restart economic activities in the province, the Bulacan provincial government, led by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, with help from national government agencies, kicked off the vaccination drive for the 1 Million Jobs 2021 project on Thursday, September 23, at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos.
The kick-off was in line with the commitment of the National Economic Recovery Strategy (NERS) Task Force to facilitate vaccines for workers under the "Reform, Rebound, Recover, the One Million Jobs for 2021" project between the NERS Task Force and the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP).As approved by the National Task Force against COVID-19, some 452,000 vaccines were deployed to vaccinate workers from the construction and manufacturing sectors.
Fernando thanked the representatives from NERS Task Force (DOLE) Central office including Regional Office 3 and Bulacan Field Office, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Bulacan, Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), ECOP, Philippine Constructors Association, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and Semiconductors, and th Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. (SEIPI) for their support.
Fernando said that for Bulacan, a total of 10,000 vaccines were approved by the National Task Force. The vaccines will be deployed to workers from the construction and manufacturing industries including the supply chain which is deemed crucial for its contribution to economic growth.
He said the "Reform, Rebound, Recover: 1 million jobs for 2021" project aims to immediately source Filipino talents for deployment to the construction, manufacturing, particularly semiconductors and electronics and hospitality, and export industries, under a policy environment that will help create jobs all over the country.
Fernando said that through the "Reform, Rebound, Recover: One Million Jobs for 2021" project 1,000 workers from the construction and manufacturing sectors, the country's main economic contributors, will receive COVID-19 vaccines at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center.
